Amy André
Amy joined the Out & Equal team in January 2006 as a program manager responsible for Out & Equal training programs. Amy is proud to serve as staff liaison to the Transgender Advisory Committee. Amy has a background in training and education. A former director on the board of the Harvey Milk Institute, an LGBT educational nonprofit, she is also a published author who writes about diversity and sexuality. Amy is originally from the East Coast and has lived in the amazing city of San Francisco for the better part of a decade. She has a master’s degree from San Francisco State University in sexuality studies, with a focus on bisexuality, and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from New College of Florida. Her hobbies include volunteering with other LGBT-related nonprofits and promoting social awareness of bisexual community issues. She shares a home with her partner, an independent filmmaker and film studies professor.
Jenny Brown
Jennifer Brown is currently an independent consultant and trainer in the leadership, communication, and diversity arena for major corporations and nonprofits. Specifically, she works with her clients to expand the diversity conversation beyond historical frameworks, to embrace a more dynamic, evolving, and broader definition that better serves the leaders of the workplace of the future. Brown also maintains a busy speaker coaching and speech-writing practice, preparing anyone charged with delivering their message in a powerful, compelling way. Her clients range from leaders of company affinity groups to senior executives—anyone whose success depends on their ability to move audiences to action. A graduate of Middlebury College, Brown holds an MA in Voice and an MS in Organizational Development. She and her partner, Michelle, live in New York City. Ryan Crowder
Ryan began at Out & Equal as an intern but quickly moved up to permanent full-time status and now manages Out & Equal’s growing Employee Resource Group Registry. He also contributes to planning the Workplace Summit, manages the contact database, collaborates on additional program department projects, and facilitates various staff needs. Ryan recently earned his master's degree in Human Sexuality Studies from San Francisco State University where he studied heterosexism and homophobia. With his newfound academic-free freedom, he has spent a fair share of his time with independent film and music endeavors, as well as sewing whatever pieces of random fabric he encounters. In addition to his vital contribution to Out & Equal, he has also been affiliated with other such reputable San Francisco-based nonprofits as Frameline (producers of the San Francisco International LGBT Film Festival) and the National Sexuality Resource Center.
Rachel Goldberg
Rachel Goldberg presently serves as the Co-Chair of the Board of Directors of the Gender Public Advocacy Coalition (GenderPAC) a nonprofit human rights organization based in Washington, D.C. She also serves as general counsel to the City of Stamford, Connecticut Urban Redevelopment Commission. She has successfully managed the real estate and development activities of the commission for more than 20 years, including some of the most successful redevelopment projects in Connecticut. Goldberg also maintains a limited private law practice in the areas of real estate development and employment discrimination with an emphasis on discrimination against transgender individuals. Goldberg is a graduate of Rutgers University where she received a bachelor’s degree and the Quinnipiac University School of Law where she received her juris doctorate. |
